Pommeria

Henry Tewksbury, Jr. was born in Weare, NH on February 13, 1786. He married Martha Clement on April 25, 1811 in Weare, NH. They moved to N. Wilmot with their son Stephen and bought a farm from Javis Morral known as Pommeria. Their daughter Miriam was born there on April 12, 1818. Their son David and daughter Louisa both died in 1842.

Stephen inherited the farm from his father (David H.’s grandfather) and his son George B. Tewksbury inherited the property from Stephen. In 1914 Edward Kimball, whose wife was a cousin of Harrison Turner’s mother, purchased the farm. Harrison planted a new apple orchard and ran an experimental sheep farm.

Ed Kimball died in 1920 and the farm was sold to William Hayes in 1921. Jack McAuliffe owned the farm when it burned August 6, 1935.
